Update on the house situation: we're looking. If you know of any awesome apartment complexes or a good house rental deal in the Whittier, La Mirada, or Fullerton areas, please let me know.

Update on the dad: dialysis delayed. When they prepare a person for dialysis, there's a surgery where a vein and artery are connected (called a fistula) in the patient's arm, and dialysis connects to the arm in this area. My dad's fistula was too far embedded into his arm to work properly, so they have to make a new one in his upper arm. He's scheduled for that this week, and after healing he'll start dialysis.

The weekend: Friday I was out sick, but was feeling better by night time, so we hosted my sister and her boyfriend, who was visiting from Japan. We ate out at Jack's and they spent the night, until Pip drove Adrian's allergies nuts and they left. Saturday, Ric and I drove around looking at the area for possible rentals. Slim pickin's. Ric's mom felt sorry for us and invited us over for a good meal. That night, we watched Stripes, which was the free DVD I chose as my reward for signing up for cable. Sunday, we had church and lunch with Liz and baby, relaxed at home, and then I joined my family to go out to eat at Roman Cucina to celebrate my visiting nephew's birthday. I also picked up a bunch of boxes at the store and packed half the kitchen. Woo. Hoo.

Up this week: the repacking process and the search for a new place. I want to be packed and ready to go as soon as we find a place. One good thing is that some things were still packed, so at least I don't have to re-pack them. And we haven't stayed long enough to make much of a mess, so we won't have much to clean.
