Progressive Bumper Stickers

March 20th, 2005

I got this Idea from Dave on this post. Here are some bumper stickers that the progressives probably don't want you to have:

Kill The Innocent, Spare The Guilty

or

Why Be A Christian, When The Government Can Be One For You

or

Faith Without Works Is Dead, That Is Why We Let The Government Do It

I love how progressives talk. Basically, they believe that the government is supposed to be a Christian for them. How many people have been saved by the Governmnet? Absoliuely none. How many people have been saved by something outside of grace? None. Whose job is it to share Christ with the nations? Christians. Whose jobs is it to enforce law and order? The government. How are Christians supposed to share Christ? With love. How is the government supposed to maintain law and order? By appropriate force.

SO what are you saying? Are you saying that the government should be allowed to ransack and pilliage our homes if we break the law? No, but what I am saying is that the government has its role, and Christians have their role. Unfortunately people confuse them. They try to make the government the Church and the Church the government, and then take away the personal responsibilties of each Christian. Of course this happens on both sides of the political spectrum. I am just picking on the progressives because I don't like to pick on myself.

I'm not sure I remember Dave ever saying that the government should "share Christ with the nations." Either you or I have misread something he's said, or you've conjured up a straw man argument. He has said that the government has some responsibility to care for the poor, but I think that's based more on general ethics than on a belief that the government is supposed to be a Christian for us.

Danny is correct...I never said that. But my political ideology is more than just general ethics. My ideology does come from how we are supposed to act as Christians. I believe that our moral values should come into play when we vote - but that is much bigger than abortion. I do not expect the gov't to share the gospel. But I will vote for someone who shares similar moral values in all areas. Smiles...why are you against abortion? Or gay marriage? Isn't it because those are Christian values that you hold? It is the same thing...I just think that there are many more Christian values than those two.
