If All Of You Could Have The Luck I Have Traveling...

March 29th, 2005

You would all probably never travel again, if you were as luck as me.

Here is the story. Everything starts off well. I get to my flight in KC on time, then I get my tickets and everything works alright. Of course when I get my tickets, I notice that my flight has already been delayed a half an hour. I think, oh well it happens, not really paying attention. Of course I am not flying into Portland, I am flying into Salt Lake. Then I notice that my connecting flight already is only a half hour after I was supposed to land. So for those of you math majors, I miss would be missing my connection, which of course I did. So I get put on standby for the next few flights to Portland, but I hear from the guys working for the airline that all flights to Portland are booked for the next FOUR days. I decide that it is time to try to get a flight elsewhere. So I find the customer service desk for Delta. I ask if I can get a flight elsewhere, and then into Portland. Here is how all of the conversations went to multiple airlines "Hello, I need one seat on a flight to Portland, yes just one, ok...no seat available, thank you for trying." Eventually, I just ask, can you get me to either Eugene or Seattle? First they do Eugene, nothing available, but Seattle, there is. So I fly into Seattle, and get picked up by my mom and drive two and half hours back to Portland, which gets me home at about midnight. Hooray. Well, just for some reference, I was supposed to be flying into Portland at 3, so I got home 9 hours late.

Oh well, I have been home for a few days now, and things are going well.

I can't respond to my posts because I am getting this error:

So I will resond here.

I think that it is the Church's job to help those who are poor and needy. I think it is a personal responsibility put upon Christians to do this. It is the Church's, and the Christians job to do this. It was a job given to the Christians, and thus it might also be the most effective means to evangelize. Of course when we pay taxes, and say that it is the governments job to take care of the poor and needy, then we make it the governments job to do it. And even though people are involved in helping the poor through the government, it is the government doing the work and the government sacrificing. I believe that this takes control of the job that the Church is supposed to do, and makes the Church flee from the job. Thus the Church and Christians are not sacrificing their own money to reach out to the lost and helpless in the world, but they are letting the government do it for them. Maybe that is why I am opposed to it.

I know I have talked about abortion before. More defenseless and innocent babies have died because of abortion, than in all the wars in American History combined. How do you think God feels about hands that shed innocent blood, Proverbs 6:16-19 of course maybe I am not following 19. When you talk about the lives of millions, yeah it is a big deal. I will agree that we need to let our faith determine our political decisions. Its just that I don't see the Church or Christians today doing what they are supposed to because they let the government do it all for them, and they think that just by going to church on sunday and paying their taxes they are doing a great work for God.

I will end this post by saying that the problem with the world is not poverty or disease or natural disasters or war. The real problem in the world is that people are sinful and lost. As a Christian it should be my first priority to evagelize according to the abilities and gifts God has given me. Maybe I need to do this better.

One Of These Days,

I think that one of these days I am going to understand myself and the things that I do. I mean like right now I am drinking coffee at 4:30 in the morning reading the same sites over and over again. Man, I have church in a few hours. I think that I will go to the first service, then teach sunday school, then come back and work. I have so much stuff to do. What you may ask, well easy, all of my classes on tuesday and wednesday have either something due, or a test. Woot. I am so excited to be me right now.

Anyways, I am awesome. I thought I would let all of you know that.

Progressive Bumper Stickers

I got this Idea from Dave on this post. Here are some bumper stickers that the progressives probably don't want you to have:

Kill The Innocent, Spare The Guilty

or

Why Be A Christian, When The Government Can Be One For You

or

Faith Without Works Is Dead, That Is Why We Let The Government Do It

I love how progressives talk. Basically, they believe that the government is supposed to be a Christian for them. How many people have been saved by the Governmnet? Absoliuely none. How many people have been saved by something outside of grace? None. Whose job is it to share Christ with the nations? Christians. Whose jobs is it to enforce law and order? The government. How are Christians supposed to share Christ? With love. How is the government supposed to maintain law and order? By appropriate force.

SO what are you saying? Are you saying that the government should be allowed to ransack and pilliage our homes if we break the law? No, but what I am saying is that the government has its role, and Christians have their role. Unfortunately people confuse them. They try to make the government the Church and the Church the government, and then take away the personal responsibilties of each Christian. Of course this happens on both sides of the political spectrum. I am just picking on the progressives because I don't like to pick on myself.

Mr. Brightside...

March 6th, 2005

Hmm... Who knew... The Killers "Mr. Brightside"

I'm coming out of my cage
And I’ve been doing just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
Now I’m falling asleep
And she’s calling a cab
While he’s having a smoke
And she’s taking a drag
Now they’re going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it’s all in my head
But she’s touching his—chest
Now, he takes off her dress
Now, let me go

I just can’t look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it’s just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
‘Cause I’m Mr Brightside

I’m coming out of my cage
And I’ve been doing just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
Now I’m falling asleep
And she’s calling a cab
While he’s having a smoke
And she’s taking a drag
Now they’re going to bed
And my stomach is sick

Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it’s just the price I pay

‘Cause I’m Mr Brightside

I never...
I never...
I never...

felt like posting it.
