Wow, Intermural Basketball

March 23rd, 2004

This has just gone nuts, for those of you who don't know I can't play basketball right now due to my shoulder being messed up, but I try to stay involved. So what do I do, I referee for our school's intramural basketball program. It is good, because it would kill me not to be involved in basketball somehow. So intramural to me means that I am playing for fun, a little to win, but mostly for fun. Like everything though, some guys take it too seriously. So tonight two teams are playing and this is the team with the guys that we have the most problems with. They are the most physical players, but they are also the whiniest. So they decide every game that they are going to complain about everything that doesn't go there way. Tonight was no different. It starts out like normal, they play physical, but nothing too bad, but I don't call much because I let them play. I think I called it the same on both ends, but the first time something doesn't go their way, they decide to complain. I can take it a little, because I understand that I am not perfect, but too much complaining makes me mad. The complaining goes on for a while, and then one time down the floor, I call a foul on the other team, and the guy giving me problem decides he is still going to complain. All I can think is, what more can this guy want. So I decide I am going to T him up. So I did. A technical foul in intramurals is an automatic ejection. So he is out of the game. Then his friend who mouths me constantly and is the other problem player, goes and decides he is going to whine as well. So I gave him a T as well. So their two players out out of the game. And I am thinking in my head, what idiots, what more could they want. They just need to shut up and play and realize no one will care about this tomorrow.

Anyways that frustrated me. I have two tests tomorrow, and then Spring Break...err Outreach Week starts. So I will have a lot of fun.
