Sufjan Stevens presents The Welcome Wagon

Filed under: MusicKyle Email @ 12:42:26 pm

Over at Asthmatic Kitty's Sidebar blog, Sufjan Stevens has been giving a track-by-track commentary on the new album he produced for The Welcome Wagon. I think he must have done a lot of the arrangements for it too, because the music has an obvious Sufjan flavor to it.

The Sidebar is set up to stream each track from your web browser, but there's also a little trick you can use to download the whole album for free. If you view the page source for each entry you'll find a link to the mp3 file that looks like this:

sidebar.asthmatickitty.com/audio/tww/01.mp3

You can use that link to directly download track 1. Change "01" to "02" to download track 2, and so on up to track 13.

The files are low quality (96 kbps), but it's a nice way to listen through the whole album a couple of times and decide if you want to buy it.

By the way, I highly recommend listening to track 4, "He Never Said a Mumblin' Word." It's beautiful.
