"Well, they finally did it. They killed my fucking car." - The Dude
So I got back from Vegas to discover my car had been stolen from my apartment complex. That's the punishment I get for thinking I shouldn't take the Neon to Vegas, I should rent a car. Now I'm driving another rental car and hoping that if the police don't find it, which is doubtful, I'll be able to find a cheap car and fast. That is looking pretty hopeful. I guess I'm just disappointed in my fellow man. I hope you enjoy the crappy brakes, the lack of a stereo and air conditioning, and all my winter coats in the trunk.
Dude that sucks, so sorry.
I realize this is a dumb question but, is it possible somebody had it towed and jacked the notification? Were you gone more than 3 days?
I was gone Friday through Sunday. It was in my car port at my apartment so I don’t see why it would be towed. But stranger things have happened so I asked my apartment management and they said no cars were towed. The cops said the same thing.
Lame, lame, lame. Does insurance help cover the cost of a new car?
I didn’t have theft because the deductible is more than my car is worth, not to mention the price of the premiums.
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo. You know, with a cheap used car, you’ll probably run into maintenance costs all the time. What about getting a cheaper car like a Fit or something? Is that possible at all, or is the timing just too wrong for it money-wise? You wouldn’t have to pay maintenance for a long time on anything if you were able to swing it..
I really didn’t spend that much in maintenance over the last five years. The timing isn’t very good for me to consider a new car and my credit isn’t that great either. I’m still weighing my options.
