So Fresh and So Clean

On Friday night my internet on my desktop stopped working. Well, sort of. IM, Skype, and a bunch of other stuff still worked but I couldn't access the web. At first I thought it was my internet but I could still ping websites and everything was working fine on my EEE. I tried a bunch of things but nothing was working. I decided on the extreme option of doing a clean install of Windows. I forgot how nice it was when there isn't all kinds of crap on your computer. Just like in real life, I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to programs and plugins and stuff and everything is a bit disorganized. I swear this time it will be different, but I know better. I'm trying to only install things as I use them, but sometimes the temptation is too great. But for right now, I will enjoy this and savor the freshness.

In other things, Danny and I attempted to do a podcast yesterday but he got called away on other business. We were going to do it today but I slept in and then had to deal with my computer. You see, it appears Plug and Play in Vista is a bit of a joke. When I re-installed and rebooted, Windows didn't detect any of my hardware. Not even my built in network card. So I had to go on my EEE, find the drivers for my motherboard and then install all those. Then I had to install my printer drivers. So that was fun. If you want to get in on the podcast, we're trying a new recording technique that we should have done ages ago. Each person records their end of the conversation on Audacity and then either Danny or myself assembles it. That way we can control all the levels. So if you have Skype, Audacity, a decent microphone, and headphones, we welcome you to participate.
