In case you haven't heard, there's a lot of brouhaha going on about Peter Jackson and The Hobbit. I was just about to write a post about what Peter told us at BNAT, but Harry beat me to the punch. Read all about it here. The gist of it is this: Jackson WANTS to do it. However, he wants to do King Kong first, then a smaller movie. However, New Line hasn't offered him the job because while they have the rights to make it, they don't have the rights to distribute it. From what Peter says, it's a pretty nasty legal battle that might take some time. So it could be awhile.
